37 weeks and counting

Tomorrow is my 38^th week of pregnancy. Two nights more to go and he will be brought out into this world! I'm so excited to see his face! It also means 2 nights more and the pregnancy pains will be over. Oh yes, baby is in a breech position so my OB does not want me to wait for my due date and experience labor. She said 38^th to 39^th week is the best for C-section delivery as the baby is already in full term. That means my husband and I chose our baby's birthday! So that will be on the 27^th of this month. Can't wait any longer…

But I'm gonna miss the bump, the sudden kicks and punches inside my tummy. Another challenge will be faced- sleepness nights, exhaustion, etc. But I'm sure, every sacrifice is worth the joy that we'll be experiencing. Thank God for this miracle!

Marriage 101 (part 1)

As I promised, here’s the 1^st part…

Being a single and independent for several years until three months ago, I’ve encountered a lot more couples having trouble in their marriages than those who claim to be happily married. I got stuck with the idea that marriage is not a bed of roses but a headache. This had initially caused me fear to engage myself to a lifetime commitment. I thought I already knew a lot about handling relationships and resolving conflicts. Nobody would really know until it is experienced.  But one thing for sure is that, we don’t have to go through the same mistakes and failures that a lot of people get into if we are properly oriented and taught. Following are some important points we should consider before getting married.

We should know what we are getting ourselves into. It isn’t a joke. Marriage is a lifetime commitment. 1828 Noah Webster Dictionary says marriage is a legal union, a contract by which the parties engage to live together in mutual affection and fidelity, till death shall separate them. It was instituted by God himself for the purpose of preventing the promiscuous intercourse of the sexes, for promoting domestic felicity, and for securing the maintenance and education of children.

The biblical definition describes marriage as the presence of God in two people’s lives to fulfill a God-given purpose of honoring Him and believing for God’s provision to be upon them. It is important to make Christ as the head and center of our marriage. The very first marriage took place in the Garden of Eden. God is the author of marriage.  Genesis 2 describes how God gave man a work and a purpose. The husband has to take care of the woman and make her beautiful or better just like how a gardener takes care of his garden. It’s also good to know that God prepared the garden and gave everything Adam & Eve would need before He created them which depicts God’s provision.  Husband & wife are God’s gifts to each other.

I'm back!

It’s nice to be back to my blogging business.  A lot of things happened-new programs here and there at work, new officemates, new friends, activities… and finally a new “status” . J   Yes, you guessed it right - new civil status and surname. J

But what made me decide to get back to blogging?  It is because of the information overload I’m getting from all the seminars we are attending about marriage.  I really wanted to share all these info that I think will really help a lot of couples in their marriages. I’m blessed to have been able to attend orientations and seminars like these to prepare us in facing this new adventure in our lives.  I remember my mom telling me, nobody told them how to raise a family. They just learned it in the process and it was not easy.  I’m blessed to be part of a church where I can learn a lot from married couples without going through similar difficult experiences in order to learn.  I realized, one area a person has a lot of issues with in this life is relationship especially in the family, let alone failed marriages and divorce.

So, dear readers hold your horses and hope you will learn a lot in here.

 

 

Choices, choices, choices...

 

We all make choices every day. Some choices are a matter of life and death. A lot of the

choices we make usually affect  our future. It is therefore crucial to think twice or thrice

before making decisions. Take risks but consider a lot of things first. Think about your

family. Think about the people around you. Think about your future. Think about the next

generation. How you make choices today defines who you are and determines your future.

 

Make the right choice! Do the right thing!

Lessons on Life

I just got this as an email from a friend and I love it. Don't know who authored this. Just read on...

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Moral:Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.
Don't judge life by one difficult season.
Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come some time or later

Fashion Designer Boyet Fajardo Scandal?

Who is he? Well, not anybody knows all fashion designers no matter how popular they are. Also, one’s fame does not give him permission to bypass standard operating procedures… It does not also give one a license to berate others.

I still wonder who would bring an unsigned credit card and passport unless those are just newly delivered and you suddenly got into an emergency situation.
I also wonder how his supporters can justify his action and say it was a “creative outburst” because he’s an artist, a fashion designer. What a lame excuse! It’s ridiculous!

Do you hate your boss?

Is it some kind of psychological about this thing between a boss and a subordinate? Sometimes, I would think yes. Does it become automatic that you hate your boss because he/she gives you a hard time and a lot of work to do while he/she does nothing but signs papers & documents or forwards your work to his/her big boss, deleting your email signature so that he/she gets the credit? Or is it normal that when someone becomes a boss, he/she turns into a monster and makes it hard for everyone so that he/she becomes popular. Pride sets in (puffed up) due to authority and power he/she is now holding - some kind of power tripping. Or is this just a cultural issue?

Why is it that in many organizations, government or private, the difficult and "notorious" bosses are the ones who are gaining popularity and become in-demand and sought-after by the hiring departments. Have anybody thought about this? I’m sure many people will agree that a power-hungry, terror, moody and tactless boss would really, really ruin your day!!!

Where are the good bosses? Why do they easily give up and leave? Is it because they can’t fight for their own right or they are overpowered by the monsters?
Aside from issues in a workplace such as politics, just like in show business (or even in blogging or in schools); if you want to be popular, you have to be controversial or notorious. Blame everyone, be a “terror teacher or boss”, be difficult, give everyone a hard time, be tactless and you’re in – you become very, very popular! Well, Congratulations! ...
